Privacy notice

Operator and contact

  • John Choi operates Drive & Ride Direct from Tustin, California, United States. Contact support@driveandridedirect.com for privacy questions, access, correction, removal, or account-closure requests.

Information we handle

  • Account email, display name, authentication records, self-declared age group, and policy-acceptance records. We use an age group rather than asking for a birth date; this is not verified identity or age.
  • Listing facts, photos and videos, descriptions, linked social posts, VIN or other item identifiers when supplied, city/state/ZIP, and permitted seller contact choices.
  • Messages, favorites, reports, blocks, review notes, and support correspondence. Browser drafts and recently viewed items may be stored on your device.
  • Technical records used for hosting, security, delivery, reliability, and usage measurement, such as requests, browser/device information, network information, page visits, and limited interaction events. Do not submit Social Security numbers, bank credentials, payment-card details, or identity documents.

How information is used

  • To provide accounts, search, listings, media, messages, saved items, requested communications, support, fraud and abuse prevention, and service reliability; to comply with law and resolve disputes.
  • If you choose the listing-writing helper, submitted item facts and notes are sent to the configured AI service through Vercel AI Gateway, currently using an OpenAI model. Do not include personal or confidential information. Suggestions must be reviewed before publication.
  • We measure site usage and selected interactions with Vercel Analytics. Our custom event fields use limited categories rather than message contents, VINs, contact details, or seller-entered descriptions.

Who can see information

  • Listings, display names, listing location, descriptions, photos, and linked posts can be public and indexed by search engines. Never include a home address, school, daily schedule, or private document in public content.
  • Eligible adult users may request a seller’s phone number when the seller enables phone or text contact. A recipient can save it; disabling future access cannot recall a number already shared. Teen accounts use in-app contact controls.
  • Messages are available to their participants. Authorized operators and service providers may access information needed for support, security, reports, and legal compliance. Reporting a message shares that reported message with moderators, not the entire inbox through the report tool.
  • Private age groups, acceptance records, reports, and review notes are not public profile fields. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards.

Service providers and external sites

  • Supabase provides account and database services. Vercel provides hosting, media storage, analytics, and AI routing. Account-email delivery providers process delivery information; Google Workspace handles our support mailbox. AI requests also involve the selected model provider.
  • Vehicle specifications and ZIP lookups use external reference services, including NHTSA, EPA data, and location lookup services. Listings may link to external sites with their own privacy practices.
  • Embedded YouTube videos may connect to Google/YouTube when loaded, sharing browser/network information under their policies. Other social links connect to their providers when you follow them. These services may collect activity under their own policies.

Browser storage and tracking choices

  • Authentication uses cookies or browser storage. Drafts and recently viewed items can remain on a device until removed. Sign out on shared devices and clear site storage if needed; doing so can remove unsent drafts.
  • We do not currently change site behavior in response to the browser’s Do Not Track signal. External embedded services may collect activity across services. You can limit storage and third-party content through your browser, although some functions may stop working.
  • We do not use this marketplace to sell customer lists or run targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this notice and implement applicable choices before the change. This does not remove any rights you have under privacy law.

Retention, removal, and requests

  • We retain account and marketplace information while needed to provide the service, handle requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Records are not all deleted automatically when a listing is sold. Different provider logs and backups have their own retention cycles.
  • Email support to request access, correction, removal of your posts, or account closure. Include your account email and relevant links, but no passwords or private documents. We may verify control of the account before acting and explain any information we must retain.
  • Closing an account does not necessarily remove another participant’s message history, report evidence, legal-preservation records, or backup copies immediately. Public copies made by other people and search engines may remain outside our control. We do not promise instant or complete erasure.

Children and teen members

  • Accounts are for ages 13 and older. The signup age screen comes before account contact details. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact support so we can assess and address it. We do not use an age statement as proof of age.
  • Teen members can request removal of their own posts. Parents or guardians can report safety or underage-account concerns, but a report does not automatically authorize disclosure of another person’s messages. Teen phone and email listing-contact fields are not offered; free-form content still needs care.

Security and notice changes

  • We use access controls and other safeguards, but no service can promise perfect security. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.
  • Material changes will be identified with an updated version and date and communicated through the service or account contact information as appropriate. Contact support if you have questions about this notice or applicable privacy rights.
